Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I have eaten at many mexican resturants and from lunch trucks from Southern California to Baja Mexico to Texas. If I could give this place a -1 star. I would! I went in and ordered a Carrna asada burrito (Steak Burrito) with no beans and rice and repeated three times to the cashier and she told the cook twice which was standing next to her. What did he do! He gave me a steak burrito with beans and rice! Plus the burrito fell apart when I picked it up. I also ordered nachos. The cook added cheese, guacamolely and cream cheese and then put the nachos in the microwave and the nacho chips came out soggy. Also they are expensive for what they give you. I also noticed they were screwing up other customer's orders as well after I ordered and while I was standing there waiting. I have eaten better food off lunch trucks. So save your money and go to a reputable Mexican food restaurant.

Best authentic Mexican I've had in SLC for sure. I eat here once a week. They are a little slower but the food is fresh and delicious.

Ok, AVOID this place, they have high prices and their burritos suck! The burritos fall apart when you get them, I just bought a bean and cheese burrito with rice inside and they charged me $6.50!!! WTF?!?! You can get a carne asada burrito from rancheritos for $1 less and you get steak inside! Do yourselves a favor and avoid this place. When I went to the bathroom it had toilet paper covered in feces all over the floor & when I asked them if they could clean it they literally said OK and walked away, 10 mins later...nothing! And they weren't busy! Just don't go there!

I got your chili Verde burrito super good!! And it next to a truck stop!! That's a plus.

Desperate for a breakfast burrito this morning, I decided to take a chance on this place. I had a chorizo and egg burrito that was both filling and delicious. Pleasantly surprised with my experience and will certainly be returning soon.

Holy deliciousness!! Authenticity, indeed. I think I've found my new favorite taqueria in Salt Lake County, and in the entire state. I rolled by on my way home from golfing on an early Sunday afternoon. The parking lot was pretty full, so I decided to hit the drive-thru. When I saw street tacos on the menu, I decided I'b better go inside so that I could dress them up, MY WAY. As I walked in, I noticed the place was packed. I was literally the only gringo in the place, which is usually a good sign. The salsa bar was phenomenal. It had 4 kinds of salsa, 3 kinds of onions, limes, radishes, cilantro and jalapenos. Everything was fresh and super tasty. The street tacos were $1.50/each and were loaded with meat. They also had grilled, caramelized, onions in them, which I thought was a very nice touch. The dining area was clean and comfortable (it used to be a Wendy's) and was in great condition. The service was great and all the employees were very nice. The only downside was that my tacos took about 15 minutes to get to me. But I'll give them a pass on that because they were really busy, and the tacos were definitely worth waiting for.

No bueno. What at one point was an acceptable taqueria has now become lame. Relatively high prices, poor quality food and an overall state of uncleanliness.

I've been driving by this former Wendy's for awhile now. Thanks for Charles review that made me actually stop in. Charles is correct about the condiment bar, simply awesome. They probably had an acre of cilantro all chopped up for you. It's pretty typical of these joints. The carne asada was pretty tasty and well done kinda like a soft jerky almost. I had them on street tacos, for $1.50 each they were slightly bigger than the ones you get from the cart. I also had a chimichanga, this was a mistake. the oil they fried it in must have been old it did not taste very good at all. The mixture of meat, bean and rice inside did not work together. So stick with the street tacos on this one.

No thanks... It looked like a good bet but no... Got a carne asada burrito which is my standard and I always get first when I try a new place. It had a lot of refried beans and rice and just, no. Yes I am comparing it to what I'm used to which is San Diego Mexican food but even compaired to the other carne asada burritos I've had out here in SLC this one is the worst. Maybe their other food is good and from the few pictures I saw of it they looked really good (I was the only one in at the time) but it is out of my way and I likely won't be back anytime soon. If the standard carne asada burrito isn't up to par then typically the rest of the items aren't either. This might be an exception to that rule but I have little desire to give it another shot anytime soon. Just packed with rice and beans. No thanks... way to gringo style for me.

I eagerly awaited the opening of this place and was only a little disappointed because I don't like the carne asada but that's a personal preference issue. I love the chicken tacos, though. If you've been to the other Paisa, be aware that this is their fast food location to target the lunch crowd and the menu is different, but has some similar things.

This place is great I went in and the whole place was full of gringos, so you know they think its authentic! They have a nice salsa bar with a crap ton of things to spice up your bowel movements. They have awesome Al pastor in which they shave off a giant thing of euro meat with pineapple on it! Its a little on the expensive side compared to the rad taco truck down the street. But I'd go back!

This place on 21st South & 900 west was very disappointing. My husband and I went in for a breakfast burrito but didn't want any potatoes in it. It was getting around lunch time. We had placed our order for 2 egg bacon burritos at 4.99 each. Several other patrons came in & placed their orders after us and were served before us. We received our order and it was pretty much nothing but runny refried mush with a tiny bit of egg, couple of bits of bacon wrapped in a nice tortilla. The salsa bar had great salsa and peppers and onions but other than that they didn't act like they wanted our business. Been to El Paisa Grill down on 3200 west a couple off dozen times and they've always treated us well and have great food. This place is an extension of the grill. Been to and support many ethnic establishments in the valley but this was the worst. Won't go there again. They don't deserve my money or a paycheck from me!
